Sunday Morning Worship
For some reason, Sunday morning worship here in America wasn't the same today. Enjoy this clip from Madoch Africa Gospel Church in Kumi, Uganda.

Update on Cambridge
In addition to being accepted to a given Faculty and the Board of Graduate Studies, it is also necessary for the potential graduate student to be accepted to a given college. The University of Cambridge has some thirty-one colleges, and in order to apply I had to select two. During our visit to Cambridge last winter, Jennifer and I were able to visit Selwyn College. It was a delightful experience and we walked away with a strong sense that this would be a good community to be with during our time in the U.K. As such, we made Selwyn our top choice. It was therefore, with great joy that we recently learned that Selwyn College accepted our placement. Here are a few pictures of the college. Enjoy!

Pictured above is the front entry into the college compound. The Greek text translates as: "Stand Strong in the Faith."
Upon entering the compound, one observes the central courtyard. The building in the center is the college chapel.

Trip to Mukura
This weekend we took a trip to our friend Livingstone and Stella's house in Mukura, Kumi (East Central Uganda). The main purpose of our visit was for Jennifer and the kids to join the clan. It was a great day. After we get all the pictures loaded to the computer I will post more about it.
Here are some pictures from along the way.

Around Town
This has been the most time consuming blog, I started it 3 hours and 15 minutes ago. The internet here has a mind of its own. I think I have been kicked off at least 30 times. But, finally I have all the pictures loaded. Last Saturday, Jon and his boda-friend James, took a tour of the city. Jon took about 550 pictures. Here are just a few.

Every day, this woman roasts corn down the road from us.
Here is a good picture of how builders place scafolding around a given structure. Click on it to get a better view.
The green banana's are called Amatooke. When roasted, they taste a lot like potatoes. The man walking by is trying to sell the clothing he is carrying on his head.
A furniture store and graphic printer in the same building.
Carrying 3 foam mattresses down Kampala road, the busiest road in the city.
